Product Content Strategy & UX Writing

Content and delivery both nothing short of miraculous.

GeekDad plays up the section around the challenge/opportunities of the tech- and info-stimulated era in which we live.

But I think every viewer can bring a little something of their experience-background-philosophy to this vid as well. At the risk of diluting the message, I might have pointed out the fact that at the end of that educational assembly line (secondary and post-secondary specifically), so many are so debt-ridden they’re compelled into uninspiring career-tracks with a lower perceived risk.

Maybe they learn some hard lessons early in these new-economy careers about what skills merit coin.

Maybe they tread water well enough to marry (or not).

Maybe they bring into the world two beautiful, shining little mortgages.

Maybe a couple kids too.

And — perhaps as a corrective measure? — maybe in their kids’ junior year of high school? — as their ultimate and perhaps final piece of meaningful advice? — steer them earnestly from the arts into a Masters of Information Science or a Business program with a Chinese concentration. Something practical.

And if they really want to show their kids they care? Walk them through the student loans process they STILL know so well.
